RBMHA 2021/22 Welcome Letter / First Skate Schedule

Posted by Steve Ryan on Sep 13 2021 at 09:49AM PDT in 2022 / 2023

On behalf of the Rayside Balfour Minor Hockey Association, I would like to welcome everyone to the upcoming hockey season.

This year we are looking at a more normal start with regular team sizes and league play. Of course, with this stage of re-opening COVID-19 rules still apply for masking, social distancing, and contact tracing. The NOHA also has a policy that requires all participants, officials, and volunteers that are eligible to be fully vaccinated as per the document in the link below:

http://www.rbmha.on.ca/organizations/3395/announcements/2299730-IMPORTANT-NOHA-COVID-19-VACCINATION-POLICY

City of Greater Sudbury has also created a policy requiring all eligible players, officials, spectators, parents, and anyone else entering the arenas that reads as follows:

“Beginning September 22, 2021, the Province will require Ontario residents to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination status to access certain businesses and settings, including fitness/recreational facilities, sporting events, meeting and event spaces, restaurants, bars, casinos, cinemas and concerts.
This will have an impact on some City facilities, including Arenas, and we know many people have questions about how this will work. We are following provincial direction on this, and the Province has committed to providing affected businesses (including municipalities) with detailed guidance on how to implement this program in advance of September 22.
We will share more details as soon as they become available. “

We will all have to follow any regulations passed on by the City of Greater Sudbury which will limit the use of its facilities. We will update this as information becomes available.

We are committed to providing fair and safe play for all participants, fans, and coaches. I hope you all enjoy this season and that we can foster the spirit of good sportsmanship for all.

If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to the appropriate party within our board. Our contact list can be found on our website or at the flowing link:

Our first skate is on September 25th. Please see schedule below for the first ice times. This will all be at the Azilda Arena. Following the second skate, team selection will take place by the head coaches. You will then be contacted by the coach for all future events.
